American Diving has been providing Winter Texans with eco-tours for twelve years. Our staff is friendly, courteous, and knowledgeable in South Texas wildlife. We have FOUR tours to offer you this year as well as customizing group trips. All trips are fully commissionable to the park and/or activity director. The Original Dolphin Watch

This eco-trip began in 1986 specifically for Winter Texans and became so popular that it has become a year round event on South Padre Island.
It is a one and a half-hour trip aboard the Double Sunshine. The trip includes onboard seminars on Dolphin dynamics and physiology, free handouts on dolphins, information on the local shore birds during the trip. You will also have our crews personal attention to your comfort. Trips run three times daily or may be customized to your schedule. Prices are as follows:

The Devils Elbow Tour
South Padre Island is home to a wealth of history full of treasure fleets, pirates, gunrunners, smugglers, and of course the civil war. All of this lays along the shore of the Laguna Madre and South Padre Island. This is a two and one half hour trip that includes the Dolphin Watch, Bird Watch, and a narrated cruise into history along the Devils Elbow. We offer free treasure maps and the most experienced crew in South Texas. This trip will run with groups of ten or more at your convenience and is offered exclusively to VALLEY PARKS.

LAGUNA ATASCOSA WILDLIFE REFUGE

This is a half day or full day birding expedition along the intercoastal waterway to the Laguna Atascosa Wildlife Refuge. During this expedition you may expect to see all of the wonderful and rare birds that winter in South Texas as well as shore animals such as Javalina, Coyotes, African Deer and of course the ever present dolphins of South Padre Island. We can provide box lunches.

This waterborne adventure begins at $19.95 per person and will be customized to your needs and schedule.

Port of Brownsville Industrial Tour: This is a half-day trip through the Port of Brownsville by water. See the giant oil platforms of the Gulf of Mexico and the wide array of international flag ships that ply their trade through the Port of Brownsville. See how oil platforms and jack up rigs are built at the at the largest platform production yard in America. (This waterborne adventure also begins at $19.95.)

The Double Sunshine: The Double Sunshine, our newest vessel, will be serving Winter Texans this year along with the MV Diver I. The Double Sunshine is a 65 foot double deck vessel with covered seating and hold up to 99 passengers Onboard she provides lemonade, coffee, hot chocolate, restroom and of course our friendly crew.
